70th Anniversary of the George Cross in Malta

Last weekend marked the 70th Anniversary of the Maltese people being awarded the George Cross for bravery during World War II.  The Duke of Gloucester flew to Malta to attend the ceremony and to attend various functions that have been organised to commemorate this important event.

To us, as a family, the George Cross has an extra special meaning because the gentleman on the right above, Chief Justice George Borg, was my husband's grandfather - know to us as Nannu George.

There are several articles written about this event which can be seen on the The Times of Malta website.
