Seawolf takes Victory at Alboran Regatta

'Seawolf' of Atlantic Charters in Gibraltar wins the Alboran Regatta

Last weekend saw the 33rd Mar da Alboran Regatta where we were all delighted to finish in first place and overall regatta winners. The main race to Alboran Isle was eventually abandoned due to lack of wind, Seawolf and her crew persevered throughout the night until 730 am, being the last boat still on the water, before reluctantly retiring, faced with an impossible course completion given the time limit set.

Saturday morning brought different conditions, 20 to 25 knots of wind from the West meant for a busy day beating from Motril to Club El Candado Malaga. With numerous head sail changes and tactical inshore verses offshore battles we were the eventual winners of our group by 25 minutes, in second place "Bongani" the other Pronavia 38, sailed in skippered by Sean Furney and owned by Tom Frame from Charter Haus UK. This was Bongani's first race in the Mediterranean, picking up the trophy for second place was a great achievement, we look forwards to racing against them again.

The above boats from Charter Haus and Atlantic Charters will be competing in the 2010 edition of the Rolex Middle Sea Race. Click on their links above if you interested in racing with them on this classic race competing against the world's best!
