The top section of Triq il-Karmnu where Dar Ghax-Xemx is situated is the prettiest section of the old streets of Victoria

Bunty,
Is the last photo from Vittoriosa (Birgu)? Looked very familiar to me.

No it's in Gozo. The winding back alleys of the old part of Victoria.

Yeah, since I posted the question, I had a "spy" there check it out for me. I had one of those 'deja vu' experiences when I first saw the photo.
And if you just had a birthday, then Happy Birthday!

Thanks for the birthday greetings. Are you Maltese or what's your connection with Malta?

Bunty,
If you're asking me (or Mo?) what my connection is, it's just that, in addition to some good first-generation Maltese/American friends, I've had some very good students from Malta, two of which work at the university. My university in the US has a formal exchange agreement with U. Malta and we hope to extend that into some joint degree programs. I've visited only once, but hope to visit Malta again. (Haven't been to Gozo.)
