Cultural festival in Gozo
Festivals - 16/03/2007 To 19/03/2007

The Għarb Local Council, in collaboration with the Ministry for Gozo, is organising a weekend-long festival of cultural events from the 16th to the 18th of March. `Seħer il-Punent` is a festival of culture spread over three days, bringing to the forefront the particular characteristics of this picturesque Gozitan village. The village square will be the main venue for concerts and other events, but places of interest, including churches, countryside chapels, museums and heritage sites, and the Wied il-Mielaħ valley will also feature as part of organised tours that are expected to generate a particular interest from local and foreign visitors. Local bands, local personalities, traditional music and food, as well as fireworks, will also play a part alongside the `infiorata` tradition that is slowly becoming enshrined in the village`s way of celebration.

March 28
Poetry on Gozo– at Dverna tal-Mewta, Victoria, Gozo
This is the Gozo ''Dead Poets Society'' and meetings take place just round the corner from our property (Dar Ghax-Xemx) in Victoria. It is a very interesting gathering as it takes place in the cellar of a traditional old bar and is a mixture of locals and ex-pats and poetry takes place in all forms and in both English and Maltese. Its certainly a different experience and you can find out more details by asking the local council in the Main Square where the market takes place.
